We at the Nord Coast Coffee Roastery strongly believe that transparency is key when it comes to coffee. We want to use this platform in order to share our ideas and stories about the world of coffee. Therefore, we created Coffee for a better place. In the future you will be able to find everything from stories about our producers, our trips to countries of origin but also our future development projects right here.
Coffee for a better Place wants to highlight the necessity of having a spotlight on producers. We believe that their role and importance in the entire production and value chain of coffee is often underestimated or left out completely. Therefore, we commit ourselves to create relationships with farmers and producers which go beyond coffee. By that we mean the following:
Starting in 2018, we will engage in different forms of projects. On the one hand we will work closely with betterplace.org and support a project focused on rebuilding the coffee and cocoa plantations in the Congo. This will be a crowd-funded project where our role will mainly be to share information and help collect a portion of the needed amount. We will use this platform to be as transparent as possible when it comes to how the raised money will be used in the end. All information and questions regarding the progress of the project can be found and are answered here.
Furthermore, we are looking to set up partnerships with already established players in the field of development like Trabocca, a green coffee importer from Amsterdam, Belco, a green coffee importer from France and others. We will tag along by supporting different projects, some already ongoing and some about to start.
As you can see, 2018 will be an exciting year for us in terms of development and coffee stories. Feel free to check regularly for updates!
